Carrie J. Molenda (since 2005). Ms. Molenda is a Senior Editor at EBIA. Previously she was the Editor and a contributing author of EBIA’s Cafeteria Plans manual (2000 to 2005). Before joining EBIA, Ms. Molenda was a partner in the Employee Benefits department of Davis Wright Tremaine in Seattle. Ms. Molenda graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1982, where she served on the law review, was awarded the Order of the Coif and was the recipient of five Am. Jur. awards. She also graduated with First Class Honors from the University of Liverpool Faculty of Law in England in 1978.

Susan R. Monkmeyer (since 2002; also was Editor from 2002 to 2005). Ms. Monkmeyer is a Senior Editor at EBIA, and is now the Editor and a contributing author of EBIA’s Cafeteria Plans manual. Before joining EBIA, Ms. Monkmeyer practiced employee benefits law for fourteen years, primarily in Minneapolis. She has also taught employee benefits as an adjunct professor at William Mitchell College of Law. She received her law degree from the University of Wisconsin cum laude in 1986, where she was an Articles Editor for the Wisconsin Law Review.
Steven P. Smith (since 2003). Mr. Smith is a member of Hinkle Elkouri Law Firm L.L.C. in Wichita, Kansas where he practices employee benefits law. Mr. Smith received his law degree with honors from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1988, where he was a member of the National Moot Court Team, the recipient of the Foulston Siefkin prize for best appellate brief and the Am. Jur. Award in Insurance Law. Following graduation, he served as research attorney for the Honorable Robert E. Davis of the Kansas Court of Appeals.
Mary Turk-Meena (since 2005). Ms. Turk-Meena is a partner in the employee benefits section of Kennedy Covington Lobdell & Hickman, L.L.P. in Charlotte, North Carolina. She has extensive experience advising companies with respect to the design, implementation and administration of qualified and nonqualified retirement plans and welfare benefit plans. In addition, Ms. Turk-Meena has significant experience working with health plans and compliance with tax, ERISA and HIPAA requirements, as well as cafeteria plans, flexible spending arrangements and health savings accounts. Ms. Turk-Meena received her law degree from Temple University in 1979.
Andrew Ky Haynes (since 2007). Mr. Haynes is a Shareholder and Director of Haynes Benefits PC in Kansas City, Missouri. He practices primarily in the area of employee benefits, representing private and governmental plans, tax-exempt organizations and service providers. Mr. Haynes has served as Chairman of the Missouri Bar Employee Benefits Committee and the Missouri Department of Insurance Liaison Committee. Mr. Haynes received his law degree from Emory University School of Law in 1982, where he was Research Editor of the Emory Law Journal.
